CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2024-25 Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis awards were announced on Thursday, as North Carolina junior Reese Brantmeier and Stanford freshman Valerie Glozman were voted the 2024-25 ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively, by the league’s 17 head coaches. Virginia head coach Sara O’Leary was voted the Coach of the Year.
Brantmeier, who also picked up First-Team All-ACC honors for the third straight year, was named the ACC Player of the Week twice and was a member of the ACC Doubles Team of the Week once along with her partner Alanis Hamilton. Named the 2025 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship Most Valuable Player, the junior led the Tar Heels to the ACC championship with a 4-0 win over No. 7 Virginia in the championship match.
Ranked in the top 10 for most of the season and as high as No. 3 overall in the ITA Singles Rankings, Brantmeier has recorded a 16-1 record in singles play over the spring season while playing at the No. 1 singles position, including a perfect 7-0 record in ACC play. She enters the NCAA Championship on a 14-match winning streak, with her lone loss in singles play coming back on January 20.
In doubles play, Brantmeier has posted a 22-4 record overall this season, including a 21-2 mark when playing with Hamilton. The duo has been ranked all spring season and reached as high as No. 2 in the most recent ITA Doubles Rankings.
A three-time ACC Freshman of the Week honoree and two-time member of the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, Glozman was named the ACC Freshman of the Year and earned First-Team All-ACC honors in her first season at Stanford.
The Bellevue, Washington, native has posted a 29-5 overall record in singles play this season, including a 16-3 mark in dual play and an 8-1 ledger in conference action. While playing at the top two spots in the lineup all year long, Glozman was 8-3 on court one and 8-0 on court two on the season and has recorded a 13-5 mark versus nationally ranked opponents.
Ranked in the top 10 of the ITA Singles Rankings all season long, Glozman has tallied a 23-11 record in doubles play, highlighted by a 21-9 mark when teaming with Connie Ma. The duo is 14-8 overall in dual matches and posted eight wins against nationally ranked opponents.
Virginia’s O’Leary was voted the ACC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, as she led the Cavaliers to a 20-5 overall record and a 10-2 mark in ACC play.
Ranked in the top 10 in the ITA Women’s Tennis Team Rankings all season long, including earning a No. 1 ranking on February 25, the Cavaliers went 7-4 versus nationally ranked opponents on the year, highlighted by a 4-2 win over No. 4 Duke in the semifinals of the 2025 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship.
In addition to the End of the Year Awards, the conference also announced the All-ACC Singles and Doubles Teams on Thursday, which included Scarlett Nicholson of Georgia Tech, Alexa Noel of Miami, Connie Ma of Stanford and Sara Ziodato of Virginia joining Brantmeier and Glozman on the first team.
Ten different schools had at least one student-athlete named to an All-ACC Singles team, while the nine All-ACC Doubles teams came from eight different schools, with North Carolina featuring two doubles pairs.
