Four ACC Teams Earn Spots in 2025 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Atlantic Coast Conference men’s lacrosse teams earned four bids as the 2025 NCAA Championship bracket was announced Sunday, May 4. The ACC’s total of four teams is the most of any league in the 2025 tournament.
 
ACC teams claimed three of the eight national seeds, as ACC champion Syracuse (11-5) notched the No. 6 seed, Duke (12-5) took the No. 7 seed and North Carolina (10-4) picked up the No. 8 seed. Two-time reigning national champion Notre Dame (8-4) also earned an NCAA bid.
 
All four ACC programs will play host to first-round games this weekend, May 10-11. The eight first-round contests air on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
 
No. 6 Syracuse entertains Harvard (10-4) at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 11, in Syracuse, New York. The Orange are in the field for the 41st time in program history. Syracuse is a 10-time NCAA champion, with the last two coming consecutively in 2008 and 2009.
 
No. 7 Duke faces Georgetown (11-4) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 10, in Durham, North Carolina. The Blue Devils earned their 27th all-time NCAA bid and 17th in the last 18 seasons. The Blue Devils have captured three NCAA championships, with the last coming in 2014.
 
Making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021, No. 8 seed North Carolina plays host to Richmond (13-3) at noon ET on Saturday. UNC earned its 34th NCAA Tournament bid and has won five national championships.
 
Notre Dame plays No. 4 Ohio State at noon ET on Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. Making its 18th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 19 seasons, Notre Dame has been selected to 28 NCAA Tournaments all-time while winning each of the last two national titles.
 
All first-round games will be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU. The quarterfinal games will be hosted by Hofstra and Navy, and those contests will air on ESPNU. The Division I semifinal and championship games will be held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The semifinals will be televised on ESPN2 on Saturday, May 24, and the championship game will be played Monday, May 26, on ESPN.
 
At least one current ACC member team has advanced to the national semifinals in 43 of the last 45 years and the five active ACC teams have combined for 27 national championships, including 11 of the last 16.
